Ben arrived at Tower Hill Stables in spring 2026, under circumstances that were painfully familiar to us.
When we were contacted about Ben, the message was stark and urgent: we were the last chance. If we said no, Ben would have been shot.
We want to be completely open — taking Ben in was not ideal. At the time, the sanctuary was already under significant financial pressure, and every new arrival brings a lifelong commitment. Saying yes meant committing to his feed, daily care, farriery, veterinary support, and safe shelter for the rest of his life.
But when the choice is safety or death, it becomes an impossible thing to walk away from.
