Other ways to help

Here are some other ways that you can help Fiona with the costs of looking after and feeding the rescued animals at the Sanctuary

Bread run volunteers

With over 100 rescued pigs living at the Sanctuary, feeding them is a big responsibility. We are lucky enough to be able to collect on date bread and produce from a supermarket which saves it from being thrown away and provides an excellent range of food for the Pigs.

If you live in Essex and are close to Brentwood, then this is something you might like to volunteer for. The organisation of the volunteers is co-ordinated via a facebook group called "Bread Run Volunteers".

OUR TEEMILL STORE

Clothing created by some of our volunteers, the designs feature the Tower Hill Sanctuary name and logo, along with other designs featuring some of our resident animals.

100% of the profit goes towards the costs at the sanctuary. You get to represent Tower Hill Stables whilst you are out and about, helping to spread awareness of the sanctuary and the work Fiona does.

VIRTUAL BREAD RUN VOLUNTEER

If you live too far away from the Sanctuary to actually do the Bread Run (see above) you can still help by becoming a Virtual Bread Runner - this simply means that you just pretend to do the Bread Run whilst doing something else :)

If you actually did do the bread run you would probably be looking at a petrol cost of around £10 so all you need to do to become a Virtual Bread Run Volunteer is to subscribe using the button below for what the cost of your petrol would have been if you had actually done it ! - This facilitates multitasking & is greener and allows you to participate by helping the piggies once a month :)

Use the button below to set up your subscription via PayPal - there is a box to tick to make it monthly :) - OR if you prefer to do a direct Standing Order, then the bank details you need are -

Name: Tower Hill Stables Piggy Bank

Sort Code 30:67:33

Account : 34571868

On line shopping

This facility really is too good to be true! If you ever shop on line, then please consider visiting your online retailer via this link as if you do and then make a purchase, the Sanctuary receives a small commission.  It costs you nothing.

There are hundreds of retailers in the scheme, from Amazon to M&S to Play.com

Just visit the link, create an account, select Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary as your supported cause and that's it :)

VISITING OR VOLUNTEERING AT THE SANCTUARY

While we aren't open to the public, we are happy to arrange days for people to visit.

As of 2019, we are offering the chance for volunteer stays at the sanctuary. You can help out with the everyday jobs such as mucking out, feeding, sweeping and tidying the stables, or petting Florence as shown above.

All we ask is for a donation of £35 (Per Person) for a night. All of this donation will go back into the running of the sanctuary and feed costs.

If you are interested in visiting, please email:

running for good

From Executive Producer James Cromwell and award-winning director Keegan Kuhn (Cowspiracy, What The Health) comes RUNNING FOR GOOD, the feature-length sports documentary narrated by Rich Roll (Finding Ultra), following world record marathon runner Fiona Oakes in her attempt not only to set a new global record in endurance racing, but to compete in the “toughest footrace on earth,” the Marathon Des Sables, a 250km race through the Sahara Desert.

Running for good is now available to watch on iTunes, Amazon (Free for Amazon Prime users) and Google Play.

Help us to spread awareness for the sanctuary and Fiona by watching and sharing the film.
