Winter's Coming — Help Us Fill 350 Bales
The fields are green and the animals are enjoying the summer sun. But at the sanctuary, we're already thinking about the cold months ahead.
Every winter, our rescued cows, horses, sheep and grazing animals depend on thousands of pounds' worth of hay to see them through. Last year's shortages and soaring prices were a sharp reminder of how quickly forage can become scarce — so this year, we've secured 350 large Heston bales from the harvest to build a proper winter reserve.
The hay is safely in. Now we need your help to pay for it.
That's what the 350 Club is all about. Whether you sponsor a whole bale, a third of one, or just a single slice, every contribution goes straight towards keeping hay nets full and tummies happy when the frost sets in. Watch our Bale-O-Meter fill up, square by golden square, as we get closer to covering all 350.
Because every rescued animal deserves a full breakfast on a cold winter morning.

Every year our calendar gives us a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the animals who call Tower Hill Stables home, while also raising much-needed funds to support their care. From cheeky characters and gentle giants to some of our most recognisable residents, every photograph tells a story and helps showcase the animals whose lives have been transformed by your support.
Now it's time to decide who will become the stars of our 2027 Tower Hill Stables Animal Sanctuary Calendar.
We have shortlisted a collection of photographs featuring some of the sanctuary's most photogenic residents, but rather than choosing the winners ourselves, we'd like you to help make the decision. After all, this is your calendar as much as ours.

We are thrilled to announce that our founder, Fiona Oakes, has been awarded the prestigious title of Plant Powered Endurance Athlete of the Year at the 2024 Plant Powered Athlete Awards!
Fiona Oakes is not only a world-class athlete but also a dedicated advocate for animal welfare and a shining example of the power of a plant-based lifestyle. Her remarkable achievements in endurance running have inspired countless individuals around the world.
Fiona holds multiple world records in marathon running, including being the fastest woman to run a marathon on all seven continents and the North Pole. Her incredible endurance and speed are a testament to her dedication and the benefits of a plant-based diet. Despite facing numerous challenges, including enduring numerous surgeries on her right knee, Fiona has shown remarkable resilience and determination. Her story is one of overcoming adversity and pushing the boundaries of what is possible.
